Rome basically is the capital city of Italy and also of the Lazio region. It is positioned towards the central-western region of the European Union, where the river Aniene meets the river Tiber.

Since it is one of the biggest cities of European Union, it had a gross domestic product of nearly 97 billion euros in the year 2005. It is believed that the city of Rome was established by twins Romulus and Remus during the 753 BC. Since Rome was on of the few key European cities to escape the ill effects of World War II, Rome remains fundamentally Renaissance and Baroque in nature.

According to the census conducted in the year 2005, the total area of this region was said to be 580 square miles. The census report also stated that the total population of this region was 2,553,873.
