It depends where in Africa. I grew up in West Africa, and I can tell you that in the Sahel region, the summer temperatures fluctuate between about 85 degrees late at night, and up to 120 degrees in direct sun during the day. But that can change over the rainy season, so you'll have days where it's hot and heavy and humid, and then a big rain and a day when it's relatively cool.
