Saprophytes refers to organisms that digests or rather breaks down the food into smaller molecules and consume it, i.e. Microbes that decompose.....Scavengers are organisms that is generally animals and birds that feed on left over food eg crow, vulture, hyena but saprophytes feed on the leftovers left behind by scavengers...

Scavengers have alimentary canal and also they do not produce extracellular enzymes to digest the left-over of dead organisms outside their body whereas Saprophytes do not have alimentary canal but produce extracellular enzymes to digest the left-over of dead organism outside their body
