One of the biggest barriers to the downward communication is the organizational structure. If organizational structure is highly bureaucratic, then it becomes impossible for the people in the lower management to communicate their messages to the upward communication to depict whether the message from the upper management has been delivered correctly or not. The barriers to downward communication also include perceptual differences, distortions in messages and manipulation of information from the middle managers to serve their interests.
