The Biggest city in Wales is Cardiff; it is also the capital of Wales. Situated on the southern coast of Wales it is governed as a unitary power. Initially it was a small town and prospered a lot after many industries were set up in this region. Later on Cardiff was used as a key port for the shipping of coal. Cardiff was officially declared a city in the year 1905 and later declared the capital of Wales in 1955.

Cardiff shares its land borders with the fertile planes of Vale of Glamorgan towards the east of the city of Newport, towards the north with South Wales Valley and towards the south with Briston Channel.
