The weather in Finland usually stays cold all throughout the year. There are a few weeks where you will experience some kind of a warm climate but it stays cold most of the year. There are also some weeks which experience extreme cold temperature often resulting in snow, ice, sleet and hailstorms.

The reason why it remains cold throughout the year is because the country is situated in the northern hemisphere which is quite close to the Arctic Circle. The Arctic Circle experiences the midnight sun syndrome which means that the sun does not set for approximately three months in the Arctic Circle and does not rise for almost two months.

Some northern most parts of Finland also experience the midnight sun syndrome. Though, you can experience the tropical kind of a climate in some coastal parts of Finland but only for a limited time during the summer weeks.
