Jupiter is the largest of the nine planets in our solar system. It is the fifth planet from the sun. To understand how big Jupiter is in terms of miles, we have to take into consideration three units of measurement of distance, namely kilometres, miles and astronomical units (which are abbreviated as AU).

Then we have to take into account the distance of Jupiter in three ways, namely the Aphelion distance, the Perihelion distance and the semi-major axis. In terms of miles, the planet Jupiter covers an Aphelion distance of approximately 507, 000, 000 miles (approximately 816, 620, 000 kilometres; 5.46 AU), a Perihelion distance of approximately 460, 280, 000 miles (approximately 740, 520, 000 miles; 4.95 AU) and a semi-major axis of approximately 483, 680, 000 miles (approximately 778, 300, 000 kilometres; 5.20336301 AU).
