The answer to this question would depend on the country that you live in as the word 'foreign' does not point to any single nationality, therefore making it difficult to identify which specific nationalities' biologists you would like to know about.

For the purposes of this question I shall assume that you are asking this question from the USA. In this case there are many successful and well known biologists from countries all over the world.
  • Perhaps one of the most famous and celebrated biologists in the world is English biologist Charles Darwin, whose book 'The Origin of Species' is still used by many biologists today. Darwin's research and theories are invaluable in the field of evolution and natural selection.
  • German physiologist Emil Adolf von Behring won a Nobel Prize in 1901 for his work in creating a vaccine against diphtheria and tetanus.
  • Another Nobel Prize winner was Australian Howard Florey, whose work in the study and discovery of penicillin alongside Alexander Fleming proved useful.
  • Fleming himself would also count as a foreign scientist, hailing from Scotland, and his work alongside Florey also gained him Nobel Prize recognition.
  • Louis Pasteur is well known for his scientific work in creating vaccines for anthrax and rabies as well as perfecting the system of pasteurisation. His work with pasteurisation was so important, in fact, that his surname is given to create the term.
  • Gregor Mendel was an Austrian scientist credited as the founder of the science of genetics. His work showed that plants (in particular pea plants) gave certain traits on to one another down generations.
