Stockholm is located on the east coast of Sweden at the mouth of Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. It is also the capital of Sweden and the biggest city in the Nordic countries. This capital mainly comprises of 14 islands, all part of the archipelago. It is the dwelling of the Swedish head of state, King Carl XVI Gustaf and also the location of its Government and Parliament.

Some of the most important attraction in this region is the two UNESCO World Heritage sites namely, the Royal Palace Drottningholm (within Ekerö Municipality) and the Forest Cemetery Skogskyrkogården. Some of the notable museums of this capital are Stockholm City Museum, Skansen, the archetype of open air museums, the museum of Modern Art, Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts and the Vasa Museum.
