Visiting York
York is noted for its rich heritage and it has played an important role throughout much of its almost 2,000 year existence. It is located in the north of England near to the Yorkshire dales and the north Yorkshire moors. York is a flat area called the Vale of York; there you will find all sorts of wildlife and pond life. There are two rivers in York and these are the Ousse and the Foss. These rivers are both fairly big and wind around and threw York.
If you want to get to York it is fairly easy to get to. York is on the main eastern rail line which is a good link to get to and from other cities such as Newcastle and Manchester. There are two airports nearby which means you can fly to other countries and people from other countries can visit York. The two airports are Leeds and Bradford. There is a ferry from hull that leaves a few times a day this means that it is suitable and accessible for day trips
York can be seen as a historical center it has old city walls and many visitor attraction such as the railway museum which shows lots of different types of trains starting from old trains to brand new. But mainly old well known trains such as the Flying Dutchman. There are also great places to visit with young children like the jorvik center. This is in York city center and focuses on Vikings. Teenagers can enjoy the York dungeons and ghost walks. If there are people that are coming from the overseas then there are lots of historical places to visit like York minister and the castle museum.
