The Tasman Glacier is the longest glacier in the South Alps and it is also the longest glacier within the whole of New Zealand. It tends to flow from the Southern Alps to the East flank of Mt. Cook.

Mt. Cook is the highest glacier within New Zealand and the Southern Alps in general are the longest and highest within the whole fo the Alps. Many people love to go skiing on the Southern Alps as they pose a big challenge for all levels of skiers.

Overall the Tasman Glacier used to stretch to the end of Lake Pukaki and it is the longest glacier within the Southern Alps.
